 May 19 & 20, 2007 - Spring Blades
of Grass Tourney This is our first tournament weekend of the year and of course, a couple challenges had to be overcome. Our biggest hurdle was the weather; forecasts predicted a very windy and wet weekend for our area, but as the weekend approached, each hour's forecast got better and better. Even the night before the tournament, rain was still predicted for late afternoon. As you can imagine, this had an impact on anyone traveling more then 30 miles. Our 2nd hurdle, which affected every Format except Men's Doubles, was this tourney weekend being the weekend before a lot of people leave for nationals down in Austin, TX. This really affected Women's Doubles and the COED 6s more then anything. With only 3 Women's OPEN teams showing up, they agreed to play Men's A - AND WON! The Decker Sisters beat up on the guys all day long and when it came to the finals against locals Rob Preston and Ron Low, last year's Pottstwon Rumble 2nd Place ladies showed no mercy! They played a very strategic, smart, and crisp game against Rob and Ron - congrats ladies and we look forward to seeing you again! Page 1 of 8 Men's OPEN Winners: 1st Place:
